Bovec mushroom pot

We carefully pick around 100 different species of mushrooms in the forests of Bovec region. Every served dish is therefore unique in its taste. Bovec mushroom pot contains also potatoes, carrots & herbs from the garden.
Frika

Frika is a traditional dish in Soča valley with origins in Friuli-Venezia region. Our frika is prepared with excellent cheese Tolminc with a protected designation of origin by Mlekarna Planika. It is served with grilled polenta and chive sauce.
Lamb patties

Our lamb patties are handmade, from the spices to the shape, from minced lamb meat carefully prepared by the butchers of KZ Tolmin. We serve them with grilled potatoes, seasonal salad and cucumber-mint sauce.
Who are we?
We are Bojan and Anja, father and daughter. Bojan, the passionate mushroom picker and Anja, an enthusiastic one, both big food lovers, cooks by heart and supporters of local ingredients and suppliers, who share their excitement with you in Bovec kitch’n.

“Really delicious local food picked and prepared by the owners of the restaurant. I really liked that they explained where they get their ingredients, for instance mushrooms they pick themselves. The service was excellent as well as suggestion as to what to try (both dishes with meat and vegan options) and we had a chance to sit down at the local craft brewery Thirsty river and enjoy the food with their beer! At the end I highly recommend to try Bovska kuhn'ca refreshing layered cake. Will definitely go there to have a meal again!”

The food is crazy delicious (Frika and Bovska mavrica are my favorites) - the portions are just the right size, it’s made from locally sourced ingredients and you can tell that Anja and Bojan put a lot of love into the food they’re offering. A must-stop when in Bovec!”
